Matt Murphy

Hi, I’m Matt. Glad you found me.

I build programs, products, and the occasional thing that probably didn’t need to exist. This site might be one. I built it anyway.

On the back: House rules

  1. Figure out what’s worth building first.
  2. Something you can click beats a slide deck.
  3. AI does the busywork. People make the calls.
  4. Start small. Keep making it better.

02The big three

Things I’m building

The ones I’m putting real time into right now. One is software, one is a research practice, and one has vending machines in it.

Pathway Builder

Status: Live product

Workforce and academic teams at community colleges often plan in separate spreadsheets and documents. I built Pathway Builder to give them one shared workspace for programs, competencies, articulation and career context.

Wavelength

One of the serious ones

Status: Live service

Evidence before investment.

My program-development studio for community colleges. It helps them decide which workforce programs are worth building, then helps build them. I lead it through Confluence Labs, the company I founded.

Corridor Cards

The one with vending machines

Status: Operating business

My trading-card business: sealed-pack vending machines, an online shop and an eBay store. It’s where my ideas about automation have to work on a Tuesday night, not just in a demo.

03The short version

I build programs.

Mostly education and training programs. Sometimes software. Occasionally both at the same time.

I help turn fuzzy ideas into real offerings—workforce programs, customized training, personal enrichment, professional education, conferences, and whatever else is worth building.

I like the whole process: finding the opportunity, figuring out if anyone actually wants it, designing the experience, modeling the economics, and getting it launched.

Not everything is a program. I’m happy to think through these too.

04Side quests

Things I made because I wanted them to exist

Not everything needs a business case. These are the two I work on when a week leaves me with AI tokens to spare.
  • TourTrip (working title)

    Web app Leftover tokens

A trip planner that connects the music to the travel: the shows, the drive between them, and everything along the way.
